Founded in end of 2019 by rural transgender people for rural trans and gender diverse persons in Eastern Uganda.
Who We Are
We are a rural non-hierarchical autonomous and indigenous trans feminist youth led non-profit community based movement/ organization in Bubulo, Manafwa District found to primarily work in the areas of policy advocacy, media activism and rural trans and gender diverse persons’ health and human rights advocacy in Eastern Uganda with the aims of advancing the equity, equality and quality of rural trans and gender diverse persons lives in Eastern Uganda and Uganda as whole.

Health Care Access
At INITIATIVE OF TRANS WITH A MISSION - UGANDA., we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing this issue. Healthcare access is by no means an easy feat, but through cooperation and community empowerment we believe we can facilitate progress in this area through a Transgender Drop in Centre (DIC). We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support.
Capacity Building

Federal Research Surveys
We enhance research and documentation of trans and gender diverse persons on a community based level through mapping and surveys and using available data to influence our priorities
Mental Health and Well-being Support
The program aims at providing an open free space for rural trans and gender diverse persons battling with anxieties, depression and any other mental health illness feel safe and heard. We have professional counselors, Regenerators and psychotherapists ready to listen and validate your feelings, help you cope ANDREW do referrals to specialized care.
Legal Aid Desk
We provide urgent support and attention to human rights violations and incidents that happen to rural trans and gender diverse persons in Manafwa and neighboring districts through our 24/7 paralegal teams and networks that are well connected to various security and law stakeholders.
Trans PLHIV Support Group
This is a support system created for rural trans and gender diverse persons living with HIV to check in with fellow victims, survivors and mentors with same life situations to share experiences, learn how to cope with the virus in more meaningful patterns and also strategize on different activities to keep and motivate others to stop stigmatization and discrimination of PLHIV in our communities.
